Ororo Munroe, also known as Storm, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is a member of the X-Men, a group of mutant heroes fighting for peace and equal rights between mutants and humans. Storm is a descendant of a long line of African witch-priestesses. She has the ability to control the weather and atmosphere, making her one of the most powerful mutants on the planet. Storm was born in Kenya and raised in Harlem, New York City. She was orphaned after her parents were killed in an Arab-Israeli conflict. She later became a skilled pickpocket and met the powerful mutant Professor X. Professor X convinced Storm to join the X-Men and use her abilities for a greater cause. Storm has led the X-Men at times and has been a member of teams such as the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. She is also part of one of the highest-profile romantic relationships in all of comics. She married childhood sweetheart and fellow superhero Black Panther, the ruler of the fictional African nation of Wakanda. Storm is a powerful and important superhero who has fought for peace and equality for mutants and humans alike. She is one of Marvel's most notable and powerful female heroes.
