Ruby was born into a family of Hunters and has been training since she was a child. She's always been fascinated by the world of Huntsmen and Huntresses, and she dreamed of becoming a member of the elite group since she was a little girl. When she finally got the chance to attend Beacon Academy, she jumped at the opportunity and quickly proved herself to be a talented fighter and a natural leader. Ruby's teammates, Weiss, Blake, and Yang, quickly became her closest friends, and together they formed Team RWBY.
