Rita Rossi is a young girl who travels with a circus. She is mute and an orphan, but she is happy and enjoys performing with the other circus performers. One day, the circus comes to a town where Nadja is living. Nadja is a young girl who is also an orphan, and she is very lonely. She is immediately drawn to Rita and the other circus performers, and she soon becomes part of their group. The circus travels to many different towns and cities, and Nadja and Rita have many adventures together. They learn about different cultures and meet new people. They also learn about themselves and what it means to be a family.
