Repulse
Repulse was a light cruiser of the Royal Navy that served in World War II. She was one of the most decorated ships of the war, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order and the Croix de Guerre with Palm. Repulse was sunk in the Battle of Singapore in 1942, but her memory lives on as one of the most heroic ships in British naval history.
Repulse was laid down in 1915 and launched in 1916. She was commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1917, and served in the North Sea and the Mediterranean during World War I. After the war, Repulse was modernized and recommissioned in 1928. She served in the Atlantic and the Far East during the 1930s, and was involved in the Second Sino-Japanese War.
In 1941, Repulse was assigned to the Far East Fleet. She was present at the Battle of Malaya in December 1941, and was sunk by Japanese aircraft in the Battle of Singapore in February 1942.
