Remy Lebeau, also known as Gambit, was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up in a rough neighborhood and got into trouble often as a kid. However, he found solace in playing cards and quickly became a skilled card player. When he was in his early 20s, he was recruited by the Thieves Guild to use his card skills for their benefit. It was during this time that he discovered his ability to charge objects with kinetic energy, making them explode on contact.
