Race Higgins was born and raised in the streets of New York City. He grew up as a newsie, selling newspapers to make a living. He was a smart and quick-witted boy, always able to come up with a clever comeback or joke to lighten the mood. Despite his tough exterior, Race had a big heart and was always willing to help out his fellow newsies.
