Patrasche
Patrasche is a dog who lived in a small village in Flanders. He was a loyal and loving companion to his master, a young boy named Nello. Nello and Patrasche were inseparable, and they would often go on adventures together. One day, Nello and Patrasche were walking in the forest when they came across a group of hunters. The hunters were about to shoot a deer, but Nello and Patrasche stood in front of the deer and protected it. The hunters were furious, but they eventually backed down. Nello and Patrasche were heroes, and they were celebrated by the villagers.
Nello and Patrasche continued to live happily together for many years. However, one day, Nello became very sick. He knew that he was dying, and he asked Patrasche to stay with him until the end. Patrasche stayed by Nello's side, and he licked his face and paws. Nello died peacefully, and Patrasche was heartbroken. He refused to leave Nello's grave, and he eventually died of starvation.
Nello and Patrasche are a beloved pair in Flemish folklore. They are a symbol of loyalty, friendship, and love.
