Non-player characters (NPCs) are the people and creatures in video games that aren't controlled by players. They're typically controlled by the computer, and they have a predetermined set of behaviors that they'll follow throughout the game. NPCs can be found in all sorts of video games, from RPGs to action-adventure games. They can be helpful allies, or they can be dangerous enemies. They can also be just plain weird. One of the most famous NPCs in video game history is Navi from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Navi is a helpful fairy who accompanies Link on his journey.
