Natalie Leclair was born in a small town in France, where her family had a long history of serving in the military. Her great-grandfather had fought in World War II, and her grandfather had been a part of the French Resistance during the same war. Her father had served in the French Army as well, and it was his influence that led Natalie to join the military at a young age.
