Mister Sinister

Nathaniel Essex, a.k.a. Mister Sinister, is a supervillain who was born in Victorian London. He was inspired by Charles Darwin's work and became obsessed with engineering humanity into a perfect race of superhumans. He encountered the mutant villain Apocalypse and the two became allies. Apocalypse used alien Celestial technology to transform Essex into Mr. Sinister, an ageless man with super-powers. Sinister developed a great interest in the mutant heroes Cyclops and Jean Grey, believing their DNA can create the ultimate mutant. He has repeatedly clashed with the X-Men and related teams. Sinister's body has been destroyed more than once, but he has always survived due to his regenerative abilities or by transferring his mind into new host bodies or clones. He is often associated with the characters Apocalypse, Cable, and Madelyne Pryor, and is leader of the team of trackers and assassins known as the Marauders.
