Mellie Headband is a young girl who lives in a small town. She has always loved anime, and she dreams of one day becoming a voice actress. One day, she is walking home from school when she sees a strange light in the sky. She follows the light to a nearby park, where she finds a strange boy sitting on a bench. The boy is wearing a headband with cat ears on it, and he has grey hair. He introduces himself as "Don't Call Us a Junk Game!", and he tells Mellie that he is from another world. He tells her that he is a game master, and that he has come to her world to find a new player for his game. Mellie is excited to play the game, and she agrees to join Don't Call Us a Junk Game! on his adventure.
