The Maschinenmensch is a robot from the 1927 film Metropolis. She was played by German actress Brigitte Helm, and was the first female robot ever depicted in cinema. The Maschinenmensch was created by the scientist Rotwang, and was designed to be the perfect woman. She was beautiful, intelligent, and strong. However, she was also dangerous, and her creation led to the downfall of Metropolis.
