Leo the Lion
Leo the Lion has been the mascot of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer since 1917. He was created by Paramount Studios art director Lionel S. Reiss, and has appeared in eleven different versions of the MGM logo. Although MGM has referred to all of the lions used in their trademark as "Leo the Lion", only the lion in use since 1957 (a total of 65 years), was actually named "Leo". In 2021, MGM introduced a new CGI logo which features a lion partially based on Leo.
