Leading Actor
A leading actor or actress is the protagonist of a film, television show, or play. They are the main character that the audience follows on their journey. Leading actors are often typecast into certain roles, but they can also play supporting or character roles. Sometimes there is more than one leading role in a dramatic piece, and the actors are said to play co-leads. A large supporting role may be considered a secondary lead. Award nominations for acting often reflect such ambiguities.
