I am a Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, urban planner, writer and one of the pioneers of modern architecture. I was born in Switzerland and became a French citizen in 1930. I have worked to provide better living conditions for the inhabitants of crowded cities, have been influential in urban planning and am a founding member of the International Congress of Modern Architecture (CIAM).
