Kyouko YAMASHIRO

Kyouko Yamashiro is a character in the anime series Chihayafuru. She is an adult woman with grey hair and is a former karuta player. She is also the mother of Taichi Mashima, one of the main characters in the series. Kyouko Yamashiro was born into a family of karuta players. Her father was a famous karuta player and her mother was also a karuta player. Kyouko herself started playing karuta at a young age and was very talented. She eventually became a professional karuta player and was one of the best players in Japan. However, Kyouko's career as a karuta player was cut short when she was diagnosed with a serious illness. She was forced to give up karuta and focus on her health. Kyouko eventually recovered from her illness, but she never returned to karuta. Despite her illness, Kyouko remained a passionate karuta fan. She often watched karuta tournaments and cheered on her son, Taichi. Kyouko also helped Taichi to learn karuta and was always there to support him.
