Kumamon
Kumamon is a bear mascot created by the government of Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. He was created in 2010 to draw tourists to the region after the Kyushu Shinkansen line opened. Kumamon quickly became a national sensation, and in late 2011, he was voted the top mascot in Japan in a nationwide survey.
