John Wemmick
John Wemmick is a clerk to Mr. Jaggers, the lawyer who helps Pip become a gentleman. Wemmick is a complex character who has a split personality. In public, he is a cold and calculating businessman. However, in private, he is a kind and generous man who loves his adopted daughter, Estella. Wemmick's character represents the duality of human nature and the way that we can present different faces to the world depending on the situation.
