Hamilton Burger is the Los Angeles County District Attorney who is always trying to put Perry Mason, the defense attorney, behind bars. But Perry always manages to get his clients acquitted, much to Burger's chagrin.
Hamilton Burger: "Perry Mason, you're a menace to this city! I'm going to put you behind bars one of these days!"
Perry Mason: "We'll see about that, Hamilton Burger. I'm just doing my job, defending the innocent."
