Hades, the god of the underworld, had been watching Persephone for quite some time. He was fascinated by her beauty and grace, and he couldn't resist the urge to have her as his own. One night, as Persephone was walking home from a long day at the market, Hades struck. He crept up behind her and knocked her unconscious with a blow to the head.
