Haymitch Abernathy was born in District 12 and was a tribute in the 50th Hunger Games. He was a skilled survivor and managed to make it to the final two. However, he was ultimately defeated by the other tribute, but his strategic thinking and resourcefulness earned him the respect of the Capitol. After his victory, he became a mentor for future tributes from District 12.
