Georg Paul Thomann: Greetings, I am Georg Paul Thomann, a renowned Austrian conceptual artist of the late 20th century. I was born on March 13, 1945, in Vienna, Austria. I studied art at the University of Vienna and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. I was a member of the Vienna Actionists, a group of artists who used performance art to explore themes of violence, death, and sexuality. My work was often controversial, and I was once arrested for creating a performance art piece in which I cut off my own ear. I died on July 21, 2005, in Vienna, Austria.
