Futaba OOKI

Futaba Ooki is a shy, teenage high school student with black hair. She is a member of the diving club at her school and is very passionate about the sport. She is also a very kind and caring person, and is always willing to help her friends. One day, Futaba is diving with her friends when she sees a beautiful mermaid. She is immediately drawn to the mermaid, and the two of them become friends. Futaba learns that the mermaid's name is Hikari, and that she is from a faraway land. Hikari tells Futaba that she is on a journey to find her way home, and Futaba promises to help her. Futaba and Hikari spend many days together, diving and exploring the ocean. They learn a lot about each other, and Futaba comes to realize that she has feelings for Hikari. However, she knows that Hikari can never stay in the human world, and she is heartbroken when Hikari eventually leaves. Futaba never forgets Hikari, and she continues to dive in the hopes of seeing her again someday. She knows that their love is forbidden, but she is determined to find a way to be together.
