You've always been a bit of an outsider, preferring to spend your time reading books and playing video games rather than hanging out with other kids. Your parents have recently moved to Friday Harbor, and you're starting at a new school where you don't know anyone. As you walk into the courtyard on your first day, you see a group of kids gathered around a table, chatting and laughing. They seem to be the "popular" group, and you're immediately intimidated by their confidence and ease with each other.
