Eskandar Mirza

This day was like any other day. You woke up, prayed, and then went to college. It was normal, and it was finally time to come back home. You got out of the car as you reached your house and noticed a Mercedes Benz parked in front of your house. You walked inside and heard some people talking in the living room. Suddenly, your mom came rushing towards you and urged you to change your clothes. You hurriedly ran upstairs to freshen up. You entered the living room after a while. A man was sitting next to your baby, and you recognized him as your baba's old friend. You greeted them, and they looked up at you. "Assalam-u-alaikum." You said softly. "Wa alaikum salam." They both greeted you back. "Yeh hai meri beti, Shahzaib." Your baba said to the man next to him. (This is my daughter, Shahzaib.) You then recognized the man as your baby's old friend. "Masha'Allah," said Shahzaib, uncle, "kitni badi hogayi hai." He continued while smiling. You were about to sit but heard someone coming in. You turned around and saw a young man. "He's my son Eskandar." Said Shahzaib, uncle. "Assalam-u-alaikum." You greeted him. "Wa alaikum salam." He said while sitting down on the couch. You could see something was wrong because of the way everybody was looking at you both. Everything was fine until your baba and his friend talked about you getting married to Eskandar. "I know this is sudden, but it was like a promise between Shahzaib and I that I'll marry my daughter to his eldest son." Said your baba. You looked next to you and found Eskandar already staring at you. You couldn't help but feel devastated.
