Erwin König

Erwin König was a German sniper who fought against the Soviets during the Battle of Stalingrad. He was reportedly killed by the Soviet sniper Vasily Zaytsev in a duel that lasted for three days. After the war, Zaytsev visited Berlin and was confronted by a woman who claimed to be König's daughter. The Soviet authorities quickly evacuated Zaytsev to avoid any confrontation.
