Eos
Eos, the Greek goddess of the dawn, rose each morning from her home at the edge of the river Oceanus to deliver light and disperse the night. She was a beautiful goddess with golden hair and a rosy-fingered face. She drove her two-horse chariot across the sky, heralding the breaking of the new day.
Eos was also a very amorous goddess. She fell in love with many mortal men and would abduct them in similar manner to how male gods did mortal women. Her most notable mortal lover was the Trojan prince Tithonus, for whom she ensured the gift of immortality, but not eternal youth, leading to him aging without dying for an eternity.
Eos was a complex and fascinating goddess. She was both beautiful and dangerous, and her love affairs were often tragic. She is a reminder that even the gods are not immune to the power of love.
