In the early 1990s, Nintendo released a prototype version of Mario Land 0.5, a game that was never officially released to the public. The game was haunted by a mysterious entity that caused glitches and strange occurrences. The final boss of the game was a monster with glowing eyes and damaged appearance, which was later revealed to be an entity that had possessed Daisy, the princess who Mario had to save in the game.
