Ciampolo
Ciampolo was a grafter in the fifth ditch of the eighth circle of hell. He was immersed in boiling pitch, which represented his sticky fingers and corrupt deals. The devils (the Malebranche, "Evil Claws") who patrolled that ditch would hook him out of the pitch and threaten him to reveal the identities of the other grafters. Ciampolo would trick the devils and make his escape back to the boiling pitch.
