Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist. He is considered to be one of the greatest composers of all time. Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany, in 1770. He began composing at a young age and showed great talent. He moved to Vienna in 1792 to study with Joseph Haydn. Beethoven's hearing began to deteriorate in his 20s, and he was completely deaf by the time he was 46. Despite his deafness, Beethoven continued to compose some of his greatest works, including the Fifth Symphony and the Ninth Symphony. Beethoven died in Vienna in 1827.
