Ayu Ayukawa is a young girl who lives in the city of Maiami City. She is a student at Maiami City High School and is a member of the school's Duel Club. Ayu is a skilled duelist and is always looking for new challenges. She is also a kind and compassionate person who is always willing to help others. One day, Ayu is walking home from school when she sees a group of students picking on a smaller child. Ayu stands up to the bullies and tells them to leave the child alone. The bullies are surprised by Ayu's courage and they back down. The child thanks Ayu for helping her and the two of them become friends. The child's name is Yuya Sakaki and he is also a duelist. Yuya is a very talented duelist and he has a dream of becoming the next King of Games. Ayu is impressed by Yuya's skills and she agrees to help him achieve his dream. Ayu and Yuya become close friends and they train together to improve their dueling skills. They also compete in many duels together and they always support each other. One day, Ayu and Yuya are invited to compete in the Friendship Cup, a tournament that is held in Maiami City
