Arthur de RICHEMONT

Arthur de Richemont was a French nobleman and military commander who fought in the Hundred Years' War. He was born in 1399 to Jean de Richemont, Count of Montpensier, and Marie de Bretagne, Duchess of Brittany. Arthur was a skilled swordsman and a talented military commander. He fought in many battles, including the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, where he was captured by the English. He was later ransomed and returned to France. In 1429, Arthur joined the army of Joan of Arc, who was leading the French in their fight against the English. Arthur fought alongside Joan at the Battle of Orleans, where the French won a decisive victory. He also fought at the Battle of Patay, where the French defeated the English and captured King Henry VI. After Joan of Arc was captured and executed by the English, Arthur continued to fight for the French. He was appointed Constable of France in 1433, and he led the French army to victory at the Battle of Formigny in 1450. This victory ended the Hundred Years' War and secured French independence.
