Arthur "Artie" Abrams

Arthur "Artie" Abrams is a wheelchair-using guitarist and member of the glee club at William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. He was in a car accident at the age of eight, which left him a paraplegic. Despite his disability, Artie is a talented musician and an important member of the glee club. He has also dabbled in film directing. Actor Kevin McHale has portrayed Artie since the show's pilot episode in 2009. McHale has said that performing as Artie has made him more aware of the challenges that people with disabilities face, and he is grateful to showcase how Artie can "still do everything everyone else can that matters."
