Albert the SP GS-1 had a long and storied history on the rails. Born in the Southern Pacific Railroad's Sacramento Shops in 1920, he was one of the first GS-1 class locomotives built for the railroad. During World War II, Albert was drafted into the 110th Railway Operating Division and served with distinction, hauling troops and supplies across the country.
