He is married and has a young daughter. He is a very ordinary man, with no remarkable talents or abilities. One day, Takamine is walking home from work when he is attacked by a mysterious assailant. The assailant is a young boy who is wearing a baseball cap and a surgical mask. The boy attacks Takamine with a baseball bat, and Takamine is knocked unconscious. When Takamine wakes up, he is in the hospital. He has no memory of the attack, and he is unable to identify his assailant.
