Adonijah

Adonijah was the fourth son of King David. He was born at Hebron during the long conflict between David and the House of Saul. Adonijah was a handsome and popular man, and he had many supporters. When David became ill, Adonijah decided to seize the throne. He gathered his supporters and proclaimed himself king. However, David's son Solomon was also a popular man, and he had many supporters as well. Solomon's supporters rallied to his cause, and they defeated Adonijah's forces. Adonijah was forced to flee, and Solomon was crowned king. Solomon was a wise and just king, and he ruled Israel for many years. Adonijah lived out the rest of his days in peace.
