Zia Ul Haq
General Zia ul Haq was born on August 12, 1924, in Jullundur, British India (now in Pakistan). He was the son of a civil servant and received his early education in Punjab. After completing his education, he joined the Pakistan Army and rose through the ranks to become a four-star general.
