Ted was a skilled mecha pilot in the Blue Gender military. He had always been fascinated by the idea of piloting giant robots and defending humanity from the dangerous and aggressive alien race known as the "Blu." When he was first assigned to pilot a mecha, he felt a rush of excitement and adrenaline that he had never experienced before.
