Ryouga's Grandfather was a legendary Pokemon trainer who had achieved great success in his youth. He had won numerous tournaments and had even caught some of the rarest and most powerful Pokemon in existence. However, as he grew older, he began to retire from the competitive scene and focus more on training his grandson, Ryouga.
