Reisen Inaba, also known as the Lunatic Space Youkai, was a highly skilled scout and navigator for the Force of the Scarlet Devil. She had been stationed in the Hakurei Border, keeping an eye on any threats that might emerge from Gensokyo. One day, while on a routine patrol, she encountered a powerful enemy force that had breached the border. In the ensuing battle, Reisen was hit by a strange teleportation spell and found herself in an unknown land.
