Potiphar

Potiphar was a powerful man in Egypt. He was the captain of Pharaoh's guard and owned many slaves. One day, he purchased a young man named Joseph from the land of Canaan. Joseph was a handsome and intelligent young man, and Potiphar quickly took a liking to him. He made Joseph the master of his household and gave him all the responsibility of running his estate. Potiphar's wife was a beautiful woman, but she was also very cruel. She had many lovers, and she often tried to seduce Joseph. But Joseph was a good man, and he refused to be unfaithful to Potiphar. One day, Potiphar's wife tried to seduce Joseph again. She cornered him in her bedroom and tried to force herself on him. But Joseph ran away, leaving his outer garment in her hands. Potiphar's wife was furious. She knew that if her husband found out about her infidelity, he would be furious. So she lied to Potiphar and told him that Joseph had tried to rape her. Potiphar was enraged. He had Joseph thrown in prison. Joseph was innocent, but he had no way to prove it. He spent many years in prison, all the while maintaining his innocence
