Ping'er

Ping'er was a kind and caring woman who served as the chief maid and personal assistant to Wang Xifeng. She was also Jia Lian's unofficial concubine, which caused many fights between her mistress and master. Despite this, she was well loved by both of them, especially Xifeng, who understood her value as a personal confidante. Ping'er was a pretty and sweet-natured girl, but she was also intelligent enough to know how to conduct herself through the politics of the family. In the Cheng-Gao ending, when Xifeng's daughter Jia Qiaojie was left motherless after Xifeng's death, Ping'er arranged the plan for Granny Liu to hide Qiaojie in her village. She eventually became Jia Lian's wife.
