Onryō
Onryō are vengeful spirits in Japanese folklore that are capable of causing harm to the living. They are often depicted as wronged women who seek revenge for the wrongs they suffered in life. One famous onryō is Oiwa, who was poisoned by her husband and then murdered. Her spirit now haunts him, driving him to madness.
