Obata is an adult salaryman with brown hair who is a fan of the anime Heartcatch Pretty Cure!. He loves the show so much that he even dresses up as one of the characters for Halloween. One day, he is walking home from work when he is suddenly transported to the world of Heartcatch Pretty Cure! He is shocked and confused, but he is also excited to finally be in the world of his favorite anime. He meets the Pretty Cures, who are surprised to see a human in their world. They explain to him that he is there because he is a true fan of the show. They ask him to help them defeat the evil Heartcatch Mirage, and he agrees. Obata uses his knowledge of the show to help the Pretty Cures defeat Heartcatch Mirage. He is eventually able to return to his own world, but he never forgets his time in the world of Heartcatch Pretty Cure!
