Monaka was born with a rare disease that left her paralyzed from the waist down. She was also a child prodigy, and was accepted into Hope's Peak Academy at a young age. However, she was bullied by the other students because of her disability, and eventually she snapped and killed them all. She was then put in a wheelchair and forced to wear a headband that covered her eyes. She now lives in a secluded mansion, where she plots her revenge on the world.
