Michael SHUKAPPER is a young man who has always loved bread. He dreams of one day becoming a master baker, and he is determined to make the best bread in the world. He enters the prestigious Yakitate!! Japan baking competition, where he faces off against some of the best bakers in the country. Michael must use all of his skills and knowledge to come out on top, and he must also overcome his own personal challenges to achieve his dream.
