Mary Read

Mary Read was born in England in 1690, the daughter of a poor family. From a young age, she was determined to live a life of adventure and freedom. She ran away from home at the age of 13 and disguised herself as a boy to join the British navy. She quickly rose through the ranks and became known for her bravery and skill as a sailor.
