Kairi Sanjou is a young elementary school student who is a member of the student council. He has green hair and wears glasses. He is a kind and caring person who is always willing to help others. He is also a very talented artist and loves to draw. One day, Kairi is walking home from school when he sees a strange cat. The cat leads him to a magical world where he meets the Shugo Chara!, who are magical guardians that protect children from evil. Kairi becomes the guardian of Amu Hinamori, a young girl who is struggling to find her true self. Kairi helps Amu to discover her true self and to become the kind of person she wants to be.
