Joseph
Joseph was the favorite son of the patriarch Jacob, and his jealous brothers sold him into slavery in Egypt. After correctly interpreting the dreams of Pharaoh, however, he rose to second-in-command in Egypt and saved Egypt during a famine. Jacob's family traveled to Egypt to escape the famine, and it is through him that they were given leave to settle in the Land of Goshen.
