Joseph Stalin was born in 1878 in the small town of Gori, Georgia. From a young age, he was determined to make a difference in the world and joined the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1899. After the Russian Revolution in 1917, Stalin rose through the ranks of the Bolshevik Party and became a close ally of Vladimir Lenin.
